Dear friends,
A brief note to let you know that about $7,000 has been donated to the Rando Fund in memory of C1C Marc Henning. For families like the Hennings as well as the families of cadets who have in the past and will in the future, benefit from your generosity.....sincere thanks to the many individual families of cadets and graduates as well as Cadet Parents' Associations from across the country who made a donation in Marc's memory.

Over the next few days, all who donated will be receiving an acknowledgment letter from me on behalf of the Rando Fund in recognition of your memorial gift. I'll also be providing the Hennings with the names of of all contributors and the total amount donated. Once again, our AFA family rises to the occasion in support of another cadet family at a time they most need it. I'm sure the Hennings will find comfort in your expressions of support in memory of their son.

For anyone who is mourning the loss of one of our own and looking for a way
to support the Henning family, use the link provided to donate to them. Our
mission is to get enough money to give flowers at his funeral and memorial
service and to give all remaining money to the family to offset the cost of
planning a funeral for our friend, a man who died far too young. This was
organized by the CS-20 Troll family but is open to anyone who wants to
donate. Spread the word- use Facebook, mass emails, whatever. I just put as
many names in this email as I could think of off the top of my head quickly
but I know far more people will be interested in this than are included in
this email.

Notes on the website- you will need a PayPal account to donate. However they
are really simple to create and very secure. At the link, they will walk you
through the process of creating one if you don't have one already. If your
PayPal account is linked directly to an account number or debit card, your
donation will take approx three days to clear (which is fine). However, if
you prefer more instant results, linking your PayPal account to a credit
card should make the money show up right away. I recommend donating 11
dollars (in honor of his class year) or 20 dollars (for his squadron).
However, anything helps no matter how big or small. Feel free to email me or

If you have cadets that you know who are traveling to the St. Louis area for
the services of Marc Henning and they need a place to stay, food, assistance
with gas, or assistance with the hotel near the funeral please have them
contact me so that our club can assist them. We have about 20 families that
have offered to put cadets in their homes or drive them once they get to the
airport. I know some are driving. I will be happy to give out my cell
number to anyone coming into the area so that we can get them assistance.
Please forward my email onto them. I've been in touch with the squadron
commander and my information has gone out to the squadron but I've also
heard several of the football team members plan to come into town and I
don't know how to get in touch with those kids.
