2010 Event Info & ProgramInvitations have been mailed! Click here for a copy to print and mail with your rsvp. RSVP's due December 8th. Event cost is $50 per person including cadets and mids: Menu choices will include a beef, salmon or vegetarian entree; salad, dessert, coffee & tea along with a commerative toasting glass. A cash bar will be available for those 21 and over. Attire is formal; Four & Three Degree cadets may wear their Service Dress unless they borrow a formal Mess Dress from an upper class cadet. All Second Degree & Firsties wear formal Mess Dress. Female cadets may change to civilian formal attire after the main program and dinner. A changing room is provided at the hotel. All family and other guests are requested equivalent civilian or military formal attire. Arrival: Take advantage of $8 Valet Parking at main circle driveway entrance to hotel on Houston Street. Check-In by 6:15pm on 2nd Floor of Omni Hotel Cadets and Mid's need to arrive and proceed to their appropriate Academy check-in table in reception area for meal tickets, table assignments, Grand March info and any other special goodies. Coat check and info for late RSVP's will be available as well upon entering the 2nd floor which is at the top of the escalators. The reception area of this 2nd floor Texas Ballroom will have the Holiday Ball photographer* available. Photographer will be available for formal photos before and after dinner/program. He will also be taking lots of candid photos before, during and after the event that will be available for online purchasing after this event. Pre-order a photo package by 11pm 21 December and receive 10%off of your order. The llink is posted above. 6:50pm: Please be seated by this time at your tables; Cadets & Mid's should be forming up for Grand March. 7:00 pm Evening Program: Color Guard Ceremony and Cadet Grand March Pledge and National Anthem Toasts Dinner Keynote Speaker: Stephen Coonts; Author, Navy Pilot Firstie Recognitions and Presentations Cadet and Current Military Recoginition with special commemorative coin. Retirement of Colors 9:30 pm: (approximately!) "The Motivator" DJ & Dancing in the Ballroom; Casino Gaming in the foyer along with caricature artists; photographer still available for formal photos. Uniformed Service Academies The Naval Academy Parents' Club of North Texas is the 2010 host academy and club with Graydon and Cindy Vandament, serving as Co-Chairmen. The planning and organization takes a year to complete, and is hosted in rotation through the five area service academy parent clubs. NTX USAFA PC will chair the ball committee for December 2011. If you are interested in helping with this event this year or in the future, please contact Laurie Larkin. All North Texas area cadets and midshipmen, along with their friends and families, are invited to attend this formal event. Senior cadets and mids are recognized as part of the evening program and also with a special gift. Fundraising and sponsorships on behalf of the Holiday Ball are requested and run throughout the year in order to help defray the annual event cost. |
